EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

PROGRAM OUTCOMES
The new B. Tech (EE) curriculum focuses on broad-based training to provide flexibility in career choices and nurture lifelong learning. It strikes a balance between breadth and depth to provide a solid foundation in physical sciences and broad coverage of non-technical areas on one hand, and comprehensive training in Electrical and Electronics Engineering on the other. In particular, the courses in Humanities, Social Sciences, Business and Management together with other essential courses in Communication Skills, contribute about 20% of the overall curriculum. It emphasis on:
- To increase the employment avenues for the students, the program is structured such that the core subjects offered are sufficient for higher studies.
- Employment in the core sectors such as companies in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity and other companies dealing with power components and systems.
- Employment in industries and manufacturing firms such as BHEL and other sectors.
- Adequate inter-disciplinary subjects and subjects in Management and Humanities, including Foreign Languages, are added to the curriculum for employability in the IT sector, Civil Services, and Indian Engineering Services.

RACE (Recent Advances in Civil Engineering)
This flagship annual technical seminar organized by the department has been a great success. Its first event was launched in 2015. The theme of the RACE 2015 (25th September to 26th September) was on various advance technologies and researches in civil engineering to which around 200 delegates attended.
RACE 2016 held during (24th September to 25th September) was attended by 100 plus delegates where technical papers on the main theme Smart Cities: Concept, Problem and Remedies were deliberated. Since 2015, the Department of Civil Engineering has been continuously participating/ organizing RACE.
